A little about us
Curiosity, with a little care.
Helpful travel ideas, thoughtful gifts and small creative pleasures. Enough detail to turn a lovely possibility into a plan.
What our guides are for
Curio Hours is an independent English-language editorial project based in Latvia. We focus on what you can actually do in a few hours: a neighborhood route, a making session, a useful gift or a small project at home.
Each guide starts with a clear reader purpose. Named places, concrete processes and practical comparisons give the story substance; a warm voice gives you a reason to keep reading.
Research and honesty
AI assists research, structure and drafting. These are independently researched guides and original project instructions, not accounts of personal visits, meals, conversations or tests. First-person editorial preferences describe a suggested choice, not an invented experience.
Public prices, schedules and policies were checked against the sources linked with each article on 2 November 2026. Actual availability, checkout totals and individual access or dietary suitability remain specific to the booking. Some sources conflict; the relevant articles retain those limitations.
Original craft projects are written designs and have not been physically prototyped. Contextual materials photographs are not images of tested finished projects.
Commercial relationships
Some guides include clearly marked affiliate booking links. We may earn a commission if you book through them. A disclosure appears beside each recommendation. Operator and publisher links in source notes are research references unless explicitly marked as affiliate links. Recommendations reflect research and editorial judgment, not personal attendance or testing.
Privacy
Search and filters run in your browser. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views and site performance. It does not use analytics cookies or local storage. Cloudflare receives technical information needed to provide the service; see its privacy policy. We have no newsletter or connected contact forms. This analytics setup does not measure affiliate-link clicks or PDF downloads as separate events. Cloudflare hosts this website and may process technical request information to deliver and protect it; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. You do not need an account to read our guides. Following an external booking link takes you to the provider, where its privacy and cookie terms apply. Affiliate links include identifiers that allow the provider to attribute eligible bookings to Curio Hours. Search and filter choices stay in your current browser page and are not sent to Curio Hours.
Photography & credits
The new blog uses 24 real, independently licensed archive photographs in 48 locally hosted WebP versions. They illustrate destinations and activities; they do not imply a current site condition, endorsement or personal attendance. Contextual food, materials and glassmaking scenes are labeled in their captions.
Full attribution, source pages and licences follow. Photographs were resized and compressed; responsive layout crops may apply. Image derivatives retain their stated licence, including the same Creative Commons ShareAlike licence where indicated. That image licence does not automatically apply to unrelated editorial copy.
